Having grown up consuming news from local networks, I understand the power of the media and the importance of accurate storytelling. I actively attempt to connect with individuals through every medium as I believe that through personal connection you can create positive change. After facilitating a three-hundred person walk out at my high school in New Westminster, I discovered a passion for representing others and empowering those unable to use their voice. I am excited to apply what I am currently learning at the British Columbia Institute of Technology to become a better storyteller and representative to the public. I am inspired by journalists like Lisa Ling, Kara Swisher, Lisa LaFlamme and Adrienne Arsenault because they demonstrate strong and compassionate journalism. After successfully completing my diploma in Broadcast and Online Journalism in 2025, I intend to pursue a journalism career with a focus in audio story telling!
I actively collaborate with organizations such as SEAS (Safety, Education, Advocacy and Support) and Justice For Girls. I have been fortunate enough to provide insight and resources to those suffering from, or survivors of, domestic and digital violence.
Experience:
Co-Founder – S.E.A.S. (Safety, Education, Advocacy and Support)
After complaints regarding protocol and conduct, S.E.A.S was able to execute a planned walk-out with calls to action – more safety, education, advocacy and support. This walkout gained the attention of many media companies across Vancouver, and encouraged a conversation around education and sexual health. During my time as a co-facilitator, I practiced communication skills, organizational skills and event coordination skills often.
Contributor – Justice For Girls
Justice For Girls invited me to share my perspective as a young advocate for women and girls. I was given the opportunity to contribute ideas for workshops and guidebooks that were shared to students around Vancouver and the surrounding cities. I was able to exercise my communication and research skills to properly support my ideas.
Contributor – MicroLink Podcast
As a contributor for BCIT’s MicroLink podcast I have further developed my audio production and interviewing skills, as well as organizational skills. I have enjoyed collaborating with my team members and my community to create stories that reflect my passion for storytelling.
Content Creator – Curlique Beauty Boutique
As a key content creator with Curlique Beauty, I was tasked with capturing footage of the event while connecting with students from Blanche Macdonald Centre for content. I have covered many makeup events including a Danessa Myricks Masterclass and An Evening with Make Up For Ever.
